Fair & Balanced Claim Payouts
Policyholders Should Not Incur Extra Costs To Get Claims Paid
We believe insurance companies should be held accountable for mistakes and required to honor the policies they sell to consumers. They should be required to properly investigate and pay valid claims.
No policyholder should have to subsidize an insurers failure to pay a claim correctly.
If a carrier underpays a claim the policyholder is never really whole after the claim is paid and damage is repaired.
Not only is this unfair to policyholders, it creates an environment that is ripe for insurance carriers to underpay claims and drag out payments knowing that policyholders may not be able to afford to get what is rightfully theirs.
In most states, the laws require the policyholder to pay for their own experts and attorney’s fees even when the carrier’s adjustment failure is affirmed by an undisputed increase in the initial offer.
Most claims environments operate in a way where nearly every claim is underpaid in some way, forcing the client into an unnecessary negotiation. These negotiations then create a delay and more importantly, dead costs to the insured. Objectively, the carrier has a financial incentive to underpay, so most times they do.
Our Position
Policyholders Deserve Fair Payments
When a policyholder has to pay extra to get their claim paid correctly – but those fees are not reimbursed – the policyholder is not made whole. To make matters worse, local and state laws are outdated providing little if any recourse for policyholders to take when their claims are wrongfully denied or underpaid.
