American Adjuster Association Core Focus
Insurance Adjuster Regulations
Fair & Equitable Licensing Is Needed
We believe that ALL adjusters should be licensed by the state Department of Insurance they operate in before they can provide adjusting services.
Some states, like Colorado, do not require Insurance Adjusters to be licensed. Without a license, there is no way to ensure the person adjusting a claim has had the proper training to make decisions regarding claim payment. This leads to costly errors that negatively impact policyholders. In addition, there is no regulatory penalty for negligence and no true accountability for adjusters operating in such an environment.
Laws should exist to protect policyholders and ensure claims are paid fairly, and without delay.
Our Position
Fair & Equitable Licensing
Treating PA’s, IA’s and carrier adjusters differently creates an environment that is ripe for insurance carriers to underpay claims and drag out payments.
Join Us
Our mission is to create awareness of existing road blocks and break down barriers that prevent fair claim payout.
Why We Exist
We’ve seen how state laws, policies and inaction from insurance companies hurt those who need help the most: policyholders trying to recover from a catastrophic and unplanned situation. These often result in moral hazards and economic disaster for the most vulnerable people. It is our responsibility to fix this.
What We Do
- Empower consumers through education and awareness of existing road blocks
- Shed light on outdated laws and policies that are hurting consumers
- Lobby for new laws that protect policyholders in the claims process
- Bring together people within the industry passionate about making common-sense changes
